Data Protection

Snapshot Service
Snapshot is a feature that copies data in external storage at a specific time to protect against data corruption or deletion. Customers who subscribe to this service will have their data snapshot every hour, resulting in two copies of data with a maximum of two hours of data loss. A daily snapshot is also taken for added protection. However, this approach should not be relied upon solely as the snapshot and active data are stored in the same location, creating a single point of failure for the tenant.
Backup Capacity
Backup services are available for all cloud-provisioned VMs upon customer request. Customers have the option to backup either all or a selected subset of their VMs, with each chosen VM being safeguarded by the backup software. The capacity needed for backup is determined by the rate of change and GFS retention policy, with larger capacity required for more copies and longer retention. Additionally, backup copies are replicated to another data center to prevent site failure.
Replication Service
Our Replication Services are available for customers who want to choose VMs to be replicated to the alternate data center for data protection. The RPO offered will be comparable to the RPO provided on the storage service catalog.
